CHACE/CHASE/Poor Farm

Information received that James Chace/Tipton, IO, lived to be 114 years old and died at the County Poor Farm sitting in a rocking chair. He was born abt 1809, so his death would have been afgter 1900 if the story is true. Anybody know if there were records kept? Thanks.
