In Response To: Re: Family genealogy (Dick)

This is my Clark family. Dan and Mary were my great-great-grandparents, and William was their son. (I'm descended from Adrian.) Mary's brother, the Rev. John Smalley Whittlesey, was minister at the Congregational Church in Durant (founded 1856, now St. Paul's Epsicopal) and then became the first chaplain of the 11th Iowa Infantry in 1861. All came from New Britain, CT, 1856-58. They were related to the Whittleseys who were early settlers and leaders in the county and territory. I want to correspond with others interested in this family specifically, and Cedar County in the 1850s-1860s generally.
