-John Brown raided Harper's ferry in 1858.
-Edwin & Barclay Coppoc (also spelled Coppock--with a "K") joined John Brown's malitia during the time they lived with their Mother in Springdale, Iowa. (She moved to Springdale after she remarried.I do not know her new married name.)1. Are there any records of the Coppoc boy's time in Sprindale, leading up to their departure with John Brown's men July 25,1858? (Barclay worked in Davenport for a year or two, but it is unclear whether he moved lived in Davenport before moving to Springdale, or whether he worked in Davenport while living in Springdale, which is not likely since it is quite a distace. (Are there any records of the dates the Coppocs lived in Springdale with their mother? Does the house/farm they lived on still stand??? Any photos of it, or them? How many miles is Davenport from Springdale?)
2.The Coppock boys met John Brown's militia while they were "drilling" on the "Maxon farm". (Is the Maxon Farm in the Springdale area? Does the farmstead still stand? Any photos of it?)
3. Their Uncle, Thomas Gwynn lived in "Cedar County". (Could he also be from the Springdale area, or a nearby farm?)
Thanks so much for helping!!!
