John & Ann (Gruwell)Heacock are my gg grandparents.They were well known Quarkers.Ann was a minster, as was her sister Alice Hawley. My great aunt is Hannah Varney. She was married to John Varney. Her father-in-law was Moses Varney and he was involved in the underground railroad as was his family. The Hannah Varney House sits on the HURBERT HOOVER NATIONAL HISTORCIAL SITE in West Branch,Ia.
