Thomas Miller

A gathering of family and friends will be held for Thomas Edward Miller, 62, Tipton, from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton.

Mr. Miller died Jan. 6 at his home from complications of Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The son of Herm and Marg Miller, he was born Aug. 1, 1945 in Iowa City. He graduated from Iowa City high school in 1963 and attended the University of Iowa.

He had worked as an electronics technician for Rohner’s, Iowa Electronics, the University of Iowa, PrintCom Services, Mercy hospital and Just Different, all in Iowa City.

Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Navy.

He was president of the Heartland Emu Association and enjoyed trains and gardening.

Mr. Miller is survived by his life partners, Donnie Bond and Les Miles, Tipton; a sister, Sharon and husband Mark Kline, Iowa City; 2 brothers, Michael and wife Sharon Miller, Shueyville; and John and wife Jeannie Miller, Laramie, Wyo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
