Funeral services for Kathryn K. Arnold, 1944-2007, 62, Wilton, were held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at Zion Lutheran church in Wilton, with Pastor Joshua Reimche officiating. Linda Timmsen was the organist, Richard Sessler the pianist and Cyndi Hammes the vocalist. Pallbearers were Roger Sessler, Roy Robert, Roger Bender, Gary Moeller, Bart Proctor, Scott Lowe and Mark Lowe. Burial was in the Columbus City cemetery.

Mrs. Arnold died suddenly Sept. 24 at Unity Health Systems hospital in Muscatine.

The daughter of Fred and Marcella Mohr Asmus, she was born Oct. 4, 1944 in Manning. She graduated from Columbus Junction high school in 1963. She later attended the University of Iowa and received a secretarial degree. She married Gordon L. Arnold on July 27, 1969 in Wilton.

She had served as secretary at Zion Lutheran church since 1992 and she had previously worked at Carver Pump and Mapco in Muscatine; CDS in Wilton and the Wilton community schools.

Mrs. Arnold was a member of Zion Lutheran church in Wilton and the Wilton American Legion Auxiliary. For many years she devoted her time to the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of Wilton. She also enjoyed her work at Zion Lutheran church and she enjoyed painting, reading, cleaning and above all, her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband; children, Julie and husband Corey Jacobs, St. Mary’s, Ga.; Janine Arnold, Wilton; and Jason Arnold, Irvine, Calif.; 3 grandchildren, Brandon, Lauren and Cecelia; and a sister, Genevieve and husband Larry Scott, Dahlonega, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Alexandria Jacobs; a sister, Anne Lowe; and an infant brother, John Asmus.
