The surnames listed are all related to the children of Jonathan Casebeer Jr,an early resident of Cedar County and the operator of Fort Sumpter, an underground railroad station transporting fugitive slaves north to Canada. He sent the fugitives on to the Rev. Aaron Humphrey, another Cedar county resident. Any information about any of these families would be appreciated. Samuel Casebeer, a son of Jonathan emigrated to Oregon in 1851. The Casebeers lived near Sugar Creek in the southern part of Cedar County.
