Hello Ray. Death records were not kept until after 1882. I looked in the Stones and Sites cemetery book and found an Ellen Hart, but the I don't believe that is your Ellen. William Hart bought 80 acres of land in Inland township, Cedar co., IA., from Freeman Howe and wife Melinda, for $2,800. It is in book 3 page 96 filed 13 Oct 1868. I will look to see when William sold the land. If Ellen was still living when he sold it, her name should be on the deed. Hope this helps.
