Memorial services for Jay Nauman Nebergall, 79, Tipton, were held Jan. 17, 1994 at Fry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Norman Anderson officiating. Steven Chambliss was the organist. Burial will be in the South Bethel cemetery, rural Tipton, at a later date.

Mr. Nebergall died Jan. 14 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, suffering from kidney infection.

The son of Floyd Edgar and Ethel Mae Nauman Nebergall, he was born July 16, 1914 in Center township. He graduated from Tipton high school in 1932. He served in the Army calvary during World War II.

He was employed by the state of Iowa as a livestock inspector and in earlier years he raised standard bred, harness, race horses.

Mr. Nebergall was a member of the South Bethel United Methodist church, the Rochester Masonic Lodge-Golden Rule Lodge No. 24, the Davenport Consistory, the American Legion Post in Marion, the Iowa Horse Harness association and the Trotting Association.

He is survived by 3 sisters, Frances Langley, Tipton; Jeane Forrey, Broomfield, Colo.; and June Reeve, Tipton; 2 brothers, Clare Nebergall and Max Nebergall, Tipton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harve Nebergall.
