Funeral services, with military honors, for Wilbur "Teet" Woode, 77, Tipton, were held Jan. 18, 1994 at Fry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin Ceynar officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Selfridge, Don Simmons, Larry Kessler, Harold Hensch, Kenny Woode and Wayne Biggs. Honorary bearers were John Schneider, Harold Harder, Donald Stout, Harlan Garlick and Russel Anderson. Burial was in the Red Oak cemetery.

Mr. Woode died Jan. 14 at his home on Orange Street from cancer.

The son of Ernest and Ellen Olson Woode, he was born July 13, 1916 on a farm near Tipton. He attended Cedar county country schools. He married Bernice Marie Powers Feb. 1, 1940 in Tipton.

Mr. Woode was a general mechanic at Alcoa Aluminum Co. for 30 years, retiring Jan. 1, 1981. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

He attended the Tipton United Methodist church and was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion and VFW.

Mr. Woode is survived by his wife; a daughter, Beverly Reinhardt, Atlanta, Ga.; 2 sons, Donald, Marion and Tony, Tipton; a sister, Darlene Worrell, West Branch; a brother, Harold, Iowa City; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Walter, Merl and Forest; and 2 sisters, Erma Woode and Norma Mathias.
