Funeral services for Mathilda C. Meier, 95, Lowden, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1994 at Trinity Lutheran church in Lowden, with the Rev. John Ranbarger officiating. Mrs. Melvin Wiebel is the organist and the Trinity Men's Choir will sing. Pallbearers are Tom Kemmann, Raymond Meier, Wilbert Stolte, Emil Meier, Harold Hoffmeier and Arlyn Meier. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Meier died Jan. 16 at Mercy hospital in Davenport, following a lengthy illness.

The daughter of Henry and Louise Hulse Ernsting, she was born Jan. 11, 1899 in Lowden. She married Louis A. Meier Jan. 31, 1923 in Lowden. He died in 1967.

Mrs. Meier had worked as a cook at the Lowden public school for 20 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, the Sewing Circle, Ladies Aid and the Lowden Senior Citizens.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty Bush, Pueblo, Colo.; 4 sons, Fredrick, Wheatland; Donald, Lowden; Arnold, Clarence; and Norman, Littleton, Colo.; 2 sisters, Louise Kemmann, Lowden and Lillian Meyerhoff, Readlyn; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Alma Ernsting.
