Funeral services for Charles L. Kingsbury, 78, West Branch, were held Dec. 27, 1993 at the Honey Grove cemetery, northeast of West Branch.

Mr. Kingsbury died Dec. 23 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, following an extended illness.

The son of Leonard and Elsie Mariman Kingsbury, he was born Nov. 1, 1915 in Glen Ellyn, Ill. He married Florence Jedlick Dec. 1, 1943 in West Branch.

Mr. Kingsbury farmed for several years and also worked at the University of Iowa. He had been self employed as a commercial painter.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Kevin, West Branch; and a sister, Mrs. Alice Haynes, Ocean Shores, Wash.
