Funeral services for Russell Harry Wethington, 68, Tipton, were held Dec. 28, 1993 at St. Mary's Catholic church in Tipton, with Father Eugene Benda officiating and the Rev. Donald Sondrol assisting. Mary Wethington was the organist and Diane Moon was the song leader. Pallbearers were Tom Fagan, Don Crock, Dwain Ford, Norman Ford, Jr., Leo Miller and Steve Maurer. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic church cemetery.
Mr. Wethington died Dec. 26 after suffering a heart attack at his rural Tipton home.
The son of Harry and Ollie Clements Wethington, he was born April 14, 1925 in rural Tipton. He graduated from Tipton high school in 1943. He married Marjorie Livielle Boll April 7, 1953 in Tipton.
Mr. Wethington was a grain and livestock farmer.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and the Tipton Moose, a past director of the Cedar County Coop and a past township trustee. He served on the church council and was a past usher and altar boy.

Mr. Wethington is survived by his wife; 4 daughters, Joan Wethington, Kathy Laing and Mary Wethington, all of Tipton; and Theresa Saunders, Tomah, Wis.; a son, Harry, Tipton; 3 sisters, Lucile Driscoll, Tipton; Aleen Driscoll, Mechanicsville; and Bessie Crock, Mechanicsville; a brother, Robert Wethington, Tipton; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
