Funeral services for Harlan H. Siemsen, 65, Bennett, were held Dec. 21, 1993 at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, with the Rev. Linda Myren officiating. Perry Schroeder was the organist and Julie Wilkins and Nancy Chittick sang. Pallbearers were Jim Wilson, Dave Wilson, Dick Schafbuch, Ralph Rorick, Ray Hennings, Bob Glaser and Roger Waller. Honorary bearers were Ray Hillyer, Bob Sauer, Rolland Johnston and Leo Myer. Burial was in the Inland cemetery.

Military services were held at the gravesite.

Mr. Siemsen died Dec. 16 at the Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, Texas, following a brief illness.

The son of Harry Herman and Dora Hagge Siemsen, he was born Jan. 7, 1928 in Bennett. He graduated from Tipton high school in 1945. He married Norma Jean Muirhead Nov. 26, 1950 in Tipton.

Mr. Siemsen was a retired farmer.

He served in the army during the Korean War, entering service March 1, 1951 and was discharged Feb. 21, 1953. He served overseas in Germany for 15 months.

He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett.

Mr. Siemsen is survived by his wife, a daughter, Kathy Minde, Richardson, Texas; a son, Kevin, Cedar Rapids; 2 sisters, Nola Garrels, Wilton and Corrine Connelly, East Moline, Ill.; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
