Funeral services for John F. Bell, 86, Bennett, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1993 at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, with the Rev. Eugene Benda officiating. Perry Schroeder was the organist and Shirley Von Muenster sang. Pallbearers were Martin Pomp, Mike Miller, Kenneth Horstmann, Harley Steinke, Keith Bell and Brett Eggert. Honorary bearers were Jim Goethals, Bob Jones and Larry Myers. Burial was in the Inland cemetery, Bennett.

Mr. Bell died Dec. 11 at the Wilton Care Center, following a lingering illness.

The son of Charles F. and Lena Eggert Bell, he was born Jan. 26, 1907 in Inland township. He graduated from Tipton high school in 1924. He married Rose M. Fortino Aug. 26, 1944 in Bloomington, Ill.

Mr. Bell was a retired farmer. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and he was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS and the Community Club, all in Bennett.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Francis (Frank) Bell, Chicago, Ill. and a daughter, Sherry Miller, St. Charles, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lettie Johnson.
