Funeral services for Paul Geadelmann, 81, Mapleton and formerly of Bennett, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 15, 1993 at the Walter-Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton, with the Rev. Stephen Root officiating. Pallbearers will be John Reese, Gary Ganion, Lon Bachus, Chuck Geadelmann, Verle Kleppe and Tood Reese.
Funeral services will also be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at the Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett, with the Rev. Linda Myren officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial will be in the Inland cemetery.
Mr. Geadelmann died Dec. 12 at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting.
The son of Charles and Carrie Peters Geadelmann, he was born Sept. 8, 1912 near Bennett. He married Dorothy Kroeplen in 1938. In 1952, due to his wife's poor health, he quit farming and moved to Bennett, where he managed an implement business. After his wife's death in 1957 he moved to Mapleton to manage the Chrisman Farms. In 1966 he married June Rodgers Letterly and they made their home in Mapleton.
Mr. Geadlemann was baptized in the Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett and was a lifelong member there. He was also a former member of the Bennett school board, a former mayor of Mapleton, a farm manager and a licensed real estate broker.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Anne, Cedar Falls; a brother, Otis, Tipton; a sister, Esther Bachus, Tipton; a stepdaughter, Linda Ganion, Everett, Wash.; and a stepson, Robert Letterly, Renton, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and a brother, Edwin.
