Funeral services for August H. Schroeder, 90, Clarence, were held Dec. 4, 1993 at St. John's United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Jo Green officiating. Deb Mohr was the organist and the St. John's adult choir sang. Pallbearers were Ricky Wulff, Allen Baird, Merlin Geadelmann, Lavern Schwien, Robert Schroeder and Dale Schroeder. Burial was in St. John's church cemetery.

Mr. Schroeder died Dec. 1 at the Clarence Nursing Home.

The son of William Sr. and Mary Klatt Schroeder, he was born Jan. 26, 1903 in Cedar county. He married Martha Wulff Oct. 5, 1949 in Clarence. She died in 1989.

Mr. Schroder was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John's church and the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by a stepdaughter, Marvella Baird, Clarence; a stepson, Dale Wulff, Clarence; 2 brothers, Elmer and Hugo, Clarence; and a sister, Edna Schwien, Tipton. He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, William Schroeder, Jr.; and a sister, Milda Geadelmann.
