Funeral services for Amanda L. Engel, 89, Lowden, were held Dec. 6, 1993 at the Trinity Lutheran church in Lowden, with the Rev. John Ranbarger officiating. Mrs. Melvin Wiebel was the organist and the Trinity Lutheran Men's Choir sang. Pallbearers were Harold Sade, Dick Sade, Roger Huffman, Marvin Licht, Alvin Licht and Lawrence Licht. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery in Lowden.

Mrs. Engel died Dec. 3 at the Wheatland Manor Nursing Home, following a short illness.

The daughter of William and Charlotte Sasse Licht, she was born April 23, 1904 in Lowden. She married Fred Engel July 3, 1948 in Davenport. He died in December 1972.

Mrs. Engel was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a stepson, Robert Engle, Lowden; 10 step-grandchildren; 28 step-great-grandchildren; a 6 step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, a stepdaughter, a stepson and 2 step-grandchildren.
