Funeral services for Louisa Sieck, 97, Tipton, were held Dec. 26, 1987 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden, with the Rev. Richard Hartshorn officiating. Elaine DeVore and Carol Wade were the vocalists and Marilyn Klahn was the organist. Pallbearers were Allen Behrens, Gilbert Behrens, Jim Schmidt, Darrell Hillyer, Marlin Hillyer and Richard Sieck. Burial was in the Van Horn cemetery, Lowden.
Mrs. Sieck died Dec. 23 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness.
The daughter of John and Mary Hagelstein Lunow, she was born March 8, 1890 near Tipton. She attended the rural Cedar county schools and married Ferdinand Sieck Jan. 11, 1911 in Benntt. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the Tipton and Lowden areas. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden.
Mrs. Sieck is survived by 5 daughters, Augusta Behrens, Wilton; Mrs. Walter (Viola) Behrens, Dade City, Fla.; Helen Schmidt, Florence Hillyer and Mrs. Raymond (Esther) Hillyer, all of Bennett; a son, Russell Sieck, Toddville; a brother, Ernest Lunow, Tipton; 26 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, 3 sisters, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
