Last rites for Robert A. Thurston, 58, Springville, a native of Tipton, were held in Marion Nov. 9 with the Rev. Neal Allen officiating. Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.

Mr. Thurston died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Nov. 5.

He was born in Tipton March 20, 1929 and was married to Charlene Oler at Lisbon Aug. 27, 1950.

He was a 25-year employee of Rockwell-Collins and retired in 1984. He was a member of the Springville United Presbyterian church and a former leader of Springville Boy Schouts Troop 57.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Larry, Cedar Rapids; 5 brothers, Earl, Tipton; Fred, Wilton; Albert, Senoia, Ga.; Tom, Inverness, Fla. and Marvin, Clarence; 2 sisters, Bonnie Moffit, Tipton and Peggy Foxworth, Andalusia, Ala. and a grandson.
