Funeral services for Clarence (Chick) Roberdee, 85, a native of Bennett and operator of Joe's Place in Iowa City for many years, were held at Iowa City Sept. 25. Mr. Roberdee died at Veterans Medical center, Iowa City, Sept. 22.

The son of Charles and Alice Brown Roberdee, he was born in Bennett June 13, 1899. He attended school in Iowa City and was married to Carol Marie Paxson in Kohoka, Mo. May 30, 1933. For more than 13 years they owned and operated Joe's Place, a popular Iowa City tavern on Iowa Avenue.

He was a veteran of the Mexican border campaign and World War I. He had lived at Venice, Fla. for 19 years.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Carol Ann) Berry, Iowa City and Mrs. William (Barbara) Plantan, Cedar Falls, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A daughter, sister and brother preceded him in death.
