Funeral services for Lee James Milota, 63, Lowden businessman, were held at Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden Jan. 9 with the Rev. Paul Jordan officiating. Burial was in the Lowden cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald Meier, Thomas Green, Reuben Wenndt, Raymond Conrad, Harlan Pruess and George Clark. Mrs. Leona Helmold was organist and the Muhs brothers sang.
Mr. Milota was dead on arrival at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Jan. 6 following a heart attack.
The son of James and Albertine Stoecker Milota, he was born at Toronto Feb. 7, 1918 and was married to Lorraine Krenz Nov. 2, 1938. She died in 1965. He was married to Bertha Green at Lowden April 7, 1967.
Mr. Milota owned and operated Lee's Garage in Lowden since 1947. He was a former fireman and member of the Lowden town council.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; a daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Marilyn) LaFrenz, Lowden; a stepdaughter, Christine Clauson, Mill Valley, Calif.; a stepson, Thomas Green, Everett, Wash.; 3 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and his father, James Milota, Wheatland.
