Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah E. Clausen, 77, were held at the Barker Funeral home in West Branch May 23 with the Rev. Samuel J. Hahn officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Clausen died at the Iowa City Extended Care center May 21 following an extensive illness

The daughter of Clarence and Rosella Perry Spaulding, she was born at West Branch April 16, 1903 and was married to Axel Clausen in West Branch Jan. 29, 1936. They lived northwest of West Branch for many years.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Victor, Coralville; sisters, Mrs. Alice Small and Mrs. Grace Ireland, both of West Branch and Mrs. Elsie McClelland, Clarence and a granddaughter.
