Funeral services for Lyle F. Whitney, 82, a former resident of Tipton, were held at National City, Calif., Sept. 11. He died at National City, Sept. 7, where he had lived for 32 years.

Born in Iowa, he lived in the Tipton area for many years. He was a retired estimator for a lumber company.

He is survived by his wife, Muriel; 2 sons, James, National City and William, Poway; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Will, Lemon Grove, Calif. and Mrs. Hazel Fritz, San Diego, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
