Last rites for Everett (Sandy) Hoon, 78, were held at the Dye Funeral home June 24, with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Lyle, Leonard Port, Verlon Weaver, Robert Reeve, Richard Moon and James Parker. George Thordsen was vocalist and Mrs. Irma Crawford organist. Graveside services were by the American Legion.

Mr. Hoon died at his home June 21. The son of Lee and Alice Murray Hoon, he was born at Tipton Nov. 3, 1895 and received his education in the Tipton schools.

He was married to Huldah Catherine Schroeder at Dixon, Ill., July 5, 1923. A lifetime resident of Tipton, he worked for many years in a Tipton grocery.

He served in World War I and was a member of the American Legion post in Tipton.

He is survived by his wife and a brother, Benjamin. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
