Funeral services for Virgil F. Kinyon, 74, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home March 23 with the Rev. Glenn Parrott officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bert and Delmar Thumm, Roy Buckley, Kenneth Kinyon, Harold Shotwell and Vincent Carlson. Merrill Womach was vocalist.

Mr. Kinyon died at University hospitals, Iowa City, March 18, following an extended illness.

The son of Harrison Land and Alice Rachel Farrington Kinyon, he was born at Clinton, Mo., Jan. 27, 1900 and received his education in the rural schools of Henry county, Missouri.

He was married to Lena Regennitter at Tipton, Jan. 15, 1918. A truck driver until he retired, he had been a Tipton resident for 57 years. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by a son, Dr. Gilbert Kinyon, LaJolla, Calif.; 3 granddaughters; 4 sisters, Mrs. Frances Garlick, Mrs. Florence Buckley and Mrs. Pauline Thumm, Tipton; and Mrs. Charles (Josephine) Thomas, Galva, Ill.; 3 brothers, Roy W. and Denver C., Davenport and Charles P., Monticello, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 sons and a daughter.
