Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Owen, 87, were held at First United Methodist church March 18 with the Rev. Glenn Parrott officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jack, Robert and James Reeve, Keith Wood, Art Albaugh and Russell Miller. Mrs. Kenneth Gould was organist and Ralph DeReus was vocalist.

Mrs. Owen died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids March 14.

The daughter of Edwin and Eldora Culver Reeve, she was born on a farm 5 miles southeast of Tipton Oct. 25, 1886. She was educated in the rural schools.

She was married to Ralph Edgar Owen in Cedar Rapids Jan. 30, 1913. They farmed east of Tipton for 43 years, moving to Tipton in 1958. Her husband died May 28, 1961.

A lifetime resident of the Tipton area she was a member of the Tipton Methodist church and the Virginia Grove King's Daughters for more than 60 years.

She is survived by a son, Melvin, Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Max (Ruth) Nebergall, Tipton; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers, 2 half sisters and 4 half brothers.
