Services for George Sissel, 71, a life resident of Tipton, were held at Sheets and Son Funeral home, Tipton, July 10. Burial was in Tipton Masonic cemetery, Tipton. Mr. Sissel died July 7 at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids after a short illness.

Pallbearers were Dale Sterner, Roger Morden, Marlin Howe, Floyd Rife, Bernal Shontz and Jim Shontz. The funeral service was conducted by Dr. Glenn Parrott.

Mr. Sissel was born at Tipton in 1901 and attended Tipton schools. He married Louella Schwitzer at Tipton in 1929. He was a retired Co-op station operator and Tipton fireman.

Survivors include 3 sons: Melvin, Lincoln, Nebr.; George, Tipton and John, Anamosa; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
