Funeral services for Emma Alice Miller, 86, who died June 30 at the Ahrens Nursing Home, Hampton, were held July 3 at 2 p.m. at the Dye Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. The Rev. Glenn R. Parrott conducted the services. Terri Thompson was vocalist and Mrs. Kenneth Gould was organist.

Pallbearers were Clifford Melick, Lawrence Hamilton, Roger McCulough, James Jorgensen and James Jorgensen Jr.

Mrs. Miller was born May 18, 1887 in Cedar county to Jasper and Frances (Hines) Carney and was married Nov. 9, 1909 in Marion to Eugene Miller. She taught school in Cedar and Buchanan counties and was a Tipton resident until 60 years ago. She has lived in Hampton the past eight years. She was member of the United Methodist church at Winthrop.

She is survived by 5 nieces and 12 nephews and was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters. One sister, Mrs. Earl Morton, may be remembered by Tipton residents as her husband was mayor in Tipton from 1934-1946.
