Services for Mrs. Rose Murphy, 79, a lifelong resident of West Branch, were held June 30 at St. Patrick's church, Iowa City. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery in Iowa City.

Mrs. Murphy died June 28 in Mercy hospital, Iowa City.

Rose McCook was born at Cedar Valley and married Francis J. Murphy in 1917 at St. Patrick's Church in Iowa City.

Her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Murphy lived her entire married life on a farm in the West Branch area.

There are no immediate survivors.
