Last rites for Mrs. Mildred S. White, 77, were held at West Branch May 2 with the Rev. Max E. Paige officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. White died at a West Branch nursing home April 30 following a long illness.

The daughter of Charles and Harriet McClung Reid, she was born at Mural, Va., Feb. 20, 1896. She married Ralph White in Virginia Dec. 31, 1918.

She lived all her adult life in the West Branch and Cedar county areas. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include 2 brothers, Wallace Reid, Culpepper, Va., and Gilmer Reid, Lexington, Va.; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband and a son died earlier.
