Funeral services for Wilbur (Bert) Morden, 81, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home March 17 with the Rev. E. H. Lauer officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale Sterner, Bill Hobstetter, Leonard Dice, Lester Drumbarger, Walter Nelson and Don Rodgers. Mrs. Harley Moreland and Mrs. Marie Fredericks were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Morden died at Cedar Manor March 14 following a long illness.

The son of George and Jane Elgie Morden, he was born at Tipton May 10, 1891 and educated in the Tipton schools. He was married to Daisy Elizabeth Thede at Iowa City May 2, 1916. She died in 1971.

Mr. Morden, who spent his life in Tipton, was employed by the Tipton street department for 20 years, retiring in 1962. Before that he had worked as a clerk in Tipton business places. He was an honorary member of the Tipton fire department.

He had been a member of the National Guard.

Mr. Morden is survived by 6 daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Dorothy) Solem, Brooklyn; Mrs. Gordon (Martha) Bieth, Mason City; Mrs. Arthur (Florence) Lightfoot, East Liverport, Ohio; Mrs. Richard (Helen) Mathews, Barrington, Ill.; Mrs. Roy (Arlene) Marcy, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Ray (Pauleen) Rupe, Tipton; a son, Harold, Tipton, a brother, William, Tipton; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a granddaughter.
