Funeral services for Paul Wilkening, 82, were held at Peace United Church of Christ, Bennett, Feb. 14 with the Rev. Harlan Levsen officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Earl Eggert, Robert O'Mara, Norman Regennitter, Harley Steinke, DeWayne Ford and Everett Von Muenster. Mrs. Ernest Riedesel was organist. The flag was presented at the gravesite by the American Legion post in Bennett.

Mr. Wilkening died at Mercy hospital, Davenport Feb. 11 following a short illness.

The son of Henry and Louise Miller Wilkening, he was born near Bennett Jan. 16, 1891 and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county. He was married to Lula Stuehm at Lowden Jan. 17, 1918.

He lived in the Bennett area all of his life, retiring from farming 22 years ago and moving to Bennett. He was a member of Peace Church of Christ United and the American Legion in Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Harold, Bennett and a sister, Mrs. George (Martha) Miller, Lowden. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers.
