Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Bartscher, 78, of Bennett were held Sept. 16 at Durant. Burial was in Durant cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frank and Roland Bartscher, Luverne Laschansky, Harry Shontz, Donald Fox and Harvey Weih. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel were vocalists and Louise Frick organist.

Mrs. Bartscher died in Durant Sept. 13 after a brief illness.

Born Oct. 23, 1891 in Scott county, she was a daughter of John and Charlotte Laschansky. She had lived in Bennett 17 years.

The former Ida Laschansky married August Bartscher, Jan. 14, 1914 at Davenport. She was a member of the United Church of Christ at Bennett, the Sunbury Royal Neighbors of America, Coretta Camp 7105, and the church guild.

The couple farmed a mile west of Sunbury until Mr. Bartscher's death in 1952.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lilly Fox of Wheatland and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and a sister.
