Final rites for Mrs. Amanda Rekemeyer, 76, former Bennett resident, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (May 14) at the Sheets and Son Funeral home with the Rev. Harlan Levsen officiating. Burial will be in the Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers are Lamoine, Ross, Robert, Richard and Ronald Rekemeyer and Allen Wiese. Mrs. Ernest Riedesel is organist and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Frick and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Treimer are in charge of flowers.

The daughter of Herman and Katie Wieck Thiering, she was born at Bennett Oct. 31, 1893 and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county. She was married to Fred Rekemeyer at Tipton Jan. 21, 1914.

She was a Bennett resident until 1953 when she moved to Davenport.

She is survived by 6 sons, Norman, Fred J., Dallas and Gaylon, all of Bennett and Harry and Roger, Davenport; 3 daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Nelda) Siebke, Davenport; Mrs. Lorance (Alice) Wiese, Dixon and Mrs. Reid (Nola) Borchers, Wheatland, 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Thiering, and a sister, Mrs. George (Meta) Boettcher, both of Tipton.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.
