Last rites for J. Martin Beck, 64, Iowa City, a former Tipton resident, were held at Gloria Dei Lutheran church, Iowa City, April 27, with burial in Memory Gardens at Iowa City.

Mr. Beck died at University hospitals, Iowa City, April 23.

He was born in Mors, Denmark. He moved to Iowa in 1924 and farmed near Atalissa. He married Anna Johnson at Wheatland in 1938. They moved to Iowa City in 1966.

Mr. Beck is survived by his wife; 3 daughters, Elsie Mae Beck and Janet Marie Beck, both of Iowa City, and Mrs. Lonnie (Betty Ann) Franks, Cedar Rapids; a son, Denis, Cedar Rapids; 4 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Martin (Clara) Kamper, Denmark, and a brother, Peter, Tipton.
