Funeral services for Mrs. Irma Guthrie, 80, were held at West Branch Friends church April 25 with the Rev. Edward English officiating.

Mrs. Guthrie died at a Tipton nursing home April 22, following a lingering illness.

She was born Sept. 8, 1889, at Valton, Wis., a daughter of Nelson and Lacy Tabor. She was married to Taylor Guthrie Sept. 15, 1908. Both were recorded ministers at the West Branch Friends church, where they served 21 years, retiring to 121 East Park Road in Iowa City. She was active in the WCTU and Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs. Poems written by her had been published in Lyrical Iowa and in a collection privately published.

Surviving are 7 sons, Victor, Elmhurst, Ill.; Harold, Winona, Minn.; Stephen, Glenn Falls, Pa.; Wilis, Waukesha, Wis.; Wayne, Missoula, Mont., David, Port Royal, Pa., and Dean of Evanston, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Doris) Hinkhouse, West Branch; 26 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Glenn Tabor Libertyville, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Ina Thomas, Rothschild, Wis. Preceding her in death were her husband and a daughter.
