A well known former resident of the Lowden community, Albert Kruckenberg, died at his home in Delavan, Wisconsin, on May 14 after a lingering illness. He was born June 6, 1888, here at Lowden, the son of William and Marie (nee Klippe) Kruckenberg. He was baptized by the late Rev. John Brammer in Trinity Lutheran church. He received his elementary education at Trinity Lutheran school and was confirmed in the Christian faith in 1903.

On February 17, 1915, he was united in holy wedlock with Amanda Wenndt. This union was blessed with two children, Edna (Mrs. Paul H. Groenke) of Watertown, Wisconsin, and WIlliam of Delavan, Wisconsin.

Until 1925 the young family resided on a farm about a mile north of Lowden. From 1925 to 1934 they lived in Detroit, Michigan. Since 1934 they resided in Delavan, Wis., where the deceased was an employee of Lake Lawn Lodge until his retirement in 1956.

In Delavan he was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran church, having at various times served on the church council and as Sunday School superintendent.

He was laid to rest in Spring Grove cemetery in Delavan, Wis., on Monday, May 18, after final services in Our Redeemer Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. Donald Wilke, pastor. The Rev. Martin Kosche of Holy Cross Lutheran church for the Deaf in Delavan interpreted the service for the deaf.

Six nephews served as pallbearers: Martin Daehn, Herman Daehn, Melvin Deke, Art Kruckenberg, Everett Kruckenberg and Wilbert Wenndt.

Survivors are his wife; one daughter Edna (Mrs. Paul H. Groenke) of Watertown, Wis.; one son, William of Delavan, Wis.; and one granddaughter, Eleanor Kruckenberg. Also, one brother, Richard of Lowden and three sisters: Mrs. Minnie Deke, Mrs. Emma Esbaum and Mrs. Paul Wenndt all of Lowden.
