Funeral services for Walter J. Conway, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21 at the Sheets and Son funeral home. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mr. Conway died at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids March 18.

He was born at Red House, W. Va. and was married to Erma Clendenin at Red House Dec. 24, 1913. They came to Cedar county shortly after their marriage and farmed for many years southwest of Tipton.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Donald, Solon; 3 daughters, Mrs. Norman (Virginia) King, Mechanicsville; Mrs. Leonard (Maxine) Schluensen, Bettendorf, and Mrs. William (Helen) Mueller, Pasadena, Calif.; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mrs. Ethel Smith, Nitro, W. Va.; Mrs. Milton (Amy) Dawson, Walker, W. Va.; Mrs. Flossie Bailey, Albuquerque, N. M., and Carmen Conway, Washington, D. C. and 3 brothers, Lawrence, Cedar Rapids and Clayton and Ancil, both of Saint Albans, W. Va.
