Funeral services for Mrs. Leo Baxa, 59, Mt. Vernon, a former Cedar county resident, were held March 18 at Solon with the Rev. A. T. Washington officiating. Burial was in the Lisbon cemetery. Mrs. Baxa died at a Cedar Rapids hospital March 15.

Mrs. Baxa was born Jan. 23, 1910, the daughter of Charles and Myrtle Trpkosh. She was married to Leo Baxa Feb. 20, 1929.

She and her husband farmed in Cedar county for 20 years. They retired about a year ago and moved to Mount Vernon.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. William Verhoef, Cedar Rapids; 3 sons, Harold and Howard, both of Lisbon, Donald, Madison, Wis.; 5 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Anthony Lakers, Davenport.
