Rod was born on Tuesday, November 30, 1948 in Muscatine, Iowa. He was the son of Earl and Mabel Brinkman Coiner. Rod attended Tipton High School which was not his first love. Rod loved cars – driving them and working on them. In between his love for cars, Rod decided to ask a young lady by the name of Linda Harden out on a date and the rest is history. Rod and Linda were married January 28, 1967 in the Methodist Church in Tipton. From this union came two beautiful girls, Kandy and Kathy. Rod had several businesses over the years but was best know as owning and operating Tipton Auto Body.
Those left to mourn his passing are, his wife, Linda; daughter, Kathy; grandchildren, Steven (Lillian) Hankemeier, Stephanie Nelson, Andrew Stewart and Hailey Stewart; great grandchildren, Jaden Nelson, Eleanor Hankemeier, and Phillip Hankemeier; sister, Jean (Ray) Eserhaut and his brother, Robert “Joe” (Tammy) Coiner. Rod was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kandy.
