Final rites for Carl T. Christensen, 71, West Liberty, were held Aug. 20 at West Liberty with burial in the West Branch cemetery. Mr. Christensen died Aug. 18 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following a long illness.

Mr. Christensen was a farmer in the West Liberty-West Branch area for many years.

Mr. Christensen was born Jan. 9, 1897, in West Branch, a son of Neal M. and Karen Pedersen Christensen. He married Elizabeth Dutter on Nov. 27, 1919, in Minot, N.D.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the West Liberty Odd Fellows Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth and a sister, Mrs. Clara Johnson of West Branch. FIve sisters preceded him in death.
