Last rites for Chalmer Everett Keller, 60, were held July 5 at United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Ernest Lauer officiating. Burial was in the Buchanan cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ed Parsons, Verlon Weaver, Carl Bair, Arnold Swan, George Worsham and Howard Parker. Mrs. Arnold Swan was organist and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Driscoll and Mr. and Mrs. Gale Maurer were in charge of flowers. Dye Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Keller died at 4 a.m. July 2 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following a long illness.

The son of Marcus and Annie Betzer Keller, he was born Dec. 12, 1907 near Buchanan and was educated in the rural schools of that area. He was a graduate of Ray's Auto school, Kansas City, Mo.

He was married to Irene Rupe at the Lutheran parsonage in Tipton Dec. 12, 1939.

A lifelong farmer in the Buchanan area, he was a member of First United Church of Christ and the Cedar County Saddle club. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. William H. (Carolyn) Kohl; a son, Gary; 2 granddaughters, Carolyn Ann and Courtney Kay Kohl, a sister, Mrs. Mearl (Thelma) Achey and 4 nieces and nephews.
