Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie C. Gaylor, 83, were held Dec. 15 in the West Branch Methodist church with the Rev. Tappmeyer officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Gaylor died Dec. 13 in Mercy hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness.

The daughter of James M. and Elizabeth Hostetter Hayslett, she was born July 30, 1883 in Rockbridge county, Virginia.

She was married to D. F. Gaylor Dec. 26, 1907 and was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Mrs. Gaylor was a member of the West Branch Methodist church, the WSCS and a charter member of the Hi-Lo club.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert (LaVerna) Raffey, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Howard (Albertus) Swails, West Branch; a son, Lawrence, Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Albert Hayslett, Springdale, 9 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
