Rachel R. Bingaman Kynett was born Nov. 25th, 1818, near Miller Town, Adams county, Penn. Died at Stanwood, Iowa, Jan. 16th, 1900, aged 81 years, 1 month and 22 days. At the age of 15 years she became convicted and at 18 she determined to be a Christian and joined the M. E. Church of which she remained a consistent member until her death. During her last illness she had may conversations in regard to the Christian life and never lost her faith in Christ, even when suffering intensely it was "Not my will but Thine be done," of all God's promises that passage in St. John 14, 13:14 she loved best. Nov. 3rd, 1840, she was united in marriage to Henry P. Kynett, to that union were born 13 children, ten girls and three boys, five of whom, together with her husband, have preceded her to the spirit world. The following persons from abroad attended the funeral: John E. Kynett, Carl, Iowa; Mrs. A. R. Paulus, Villisca, Iowa; Mrs. J. H. Bailey, Lyons, Iowa; Mrs.and Mrs. J. K. Barnicle, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Paist, Stanwood. Mrs. C. T. Walker was not present on account of illness in the family. The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church here, conducted by Rev. Hudson of Stanwood, assisted by Rev. M. A. Goodell, on Thursday afternoon. The body was laid to rest in Lisbon Cemetery.
