OBITUARY
Phyllis N. Gesing, 85, entered eternity on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Anamosa Care Center. Graveside committal services will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm, St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Nolan Settlement, Solon. Phyllis was the daughter of Clem and Nora VanSickel Hyke and was born in Cresco, Iowa on July 31, 1935. She graduated from Paris #4 School and was married at 16 years of age to Raphael J. Gesing in Lourdes Our Lady Catholic Church. Phyllis worked for NICC (Area #1 North East Iowa Tech Community College) for 31 years.
Phyllis is survived by her 3 daughters, Judith (Ken) Gerleman of North Liberty, Iowa, Linda (Dale) Schroeder of Des Moines, Iowa, Darlene (Mark) Mostek of Lakewood, Colorado; sons, Micheal (Jolene) Gesing of Postville, Iowa and Lawrence (Kathy) Gesing of Spillville, Iowa; brothers, Lyle Hyke of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Earl Hyke of Missouri; sister, Esther Lensing of Calmar, Iowa; Grandchildren, Melissa, Luke, Marie, Adam, Jackie, Georg, Karl, Angela and Jeremiah and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Caroline Gesing; grandson, Joseph McMullen; and her siblings, Dorothy Marhoul, Neoma Miller, Lois Combs, Gladys Samec, Katherine Feuerhelm, Alice Praska, Hazel Vaugn, Mary Ernest and Glenn Hyke.
