Hallmar - Ruth E. Arnott, 99, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, in Hallmar following a brief illness. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Turner Chapel East, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Charles Lerch of Newburg, Ind.; and a sister, Vera Melton of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Maynard, a sister, Nella Landis, and two brothers, John W. Melton and Homer Melton.
Ruth was born Dec 26, 1900, in Mechanicsville, the beloved daughter of Leroy and Emily Wilson Melton. She married Maynard F. Arnott in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the A.A. R. P.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of donor’s choice.
