Services for Mrs. Bertha Perkins, 85, former West Branch resident, were held April 3 in West Branch with the Rev. Roger Tappmeyer officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
Mrs. Perkins died April 1 at a Davenport hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Perkins was born July 21, 1881, in Tennessee, the daughter of William and Hannah Stanfield. She married Charles Porter Perkins in Lake City, Oct. 23, 1904. She lived in West Branch until about 2 years ago.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Vern (Irma) Olmstad, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Raymond (Vera) Krebs, Davenport; 2 sons, Kenneth, Aledo, Ill. and Clifford, West Branch; a brother, Ralph Stanfield, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada; a sister, Lulu Stanfield, Kansas City, Mo.; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers and a sister.
