Funeral services for Mrs. Floyd J. (Bertha) Beatty, 78, former Clarence resident, were held at 3 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Hill and Frederick Funeral home in Davenport. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery, Davenport.

Mrs. Beatty died Feb. 18 at Mercy hospital, Davenport, after an extended illness.

A native of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, the former Bertha Stewart was married to Floyd J. Beatty June 16, 1916 at Waterloo. The Beattys lived in Clarence in the 1920's and early 1930's. Mr. Beatty died in 1964.

Mrs. Beatty was a member of the D.A.R. and the First Presbyterian church of New Kensington, Penn.

She is survived by a foster son, Earl Spencer, Davenport; 2 foster grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Sample, New Kensington, Penn.; 2 nieces and a nephew.
