Funeral services for Walter Irvin Chamberlain, 71, were held Feb. 14 at Wilton Junction with the Rev. I. G. Wilkins officiating. Burial was in the Rochester cemetery. Mr. Chamberlain died Feb. 11 at Veterans hospital in Iowa City, following a lengthy illness.
The son of William and Agnes Kramer Chamberlain, he was born Oct. 7, 1895 at Tipton.
He married Madelle Morehouse Sept. 29, 1921 at Cedar Rapids. Mr. Chamberlain was a member of the Methodist church, the Tipton American Legion and the Rainbow Division association of Cedar Rapids. A former resident of Tipton, he had lived at Wilton Junction for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife; 3 brothers, J. Everett Chamberlain and Forrest J. Chamberlain, both of Tipton; and Ralph R. Chamberlain of Kenosha; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Dawson Powers, Tipton and Mrs. Eve Pirie, Stanwood. One sister preceded him in death.
